Problems with email

Intermittent email problems can occur from time to time, the main causes being broadband bottlenecking and third party email server congestion. These external factors are not in InterWeb Connections control. However, the following information will help you to decide who to contact for support if your email stops working or your experiencing intermittent connection issues.

Who provides my Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing (SMTP) email services?

InterWeb Connections provides your Incoming (POP3) email service.

Your broadband supplier provides your Outgoing (SMTP) email service.

Therefore, when you Receive email its delivered by InterWeb Connections, but when you Send email its delivered by your broadband supplier.

Therefore, if you are having problems Receiving email you should contact us immediately. However, if you are having problems Sending email you should contact your broadband supplier such as BT, Pipex, Plusnet, etc.

Customers with Advanced, IMAP or Microsoft Exchange mailboxes should contact us if you experience any issues when Sending or Receiving email, as these services support SMTP functionality.
